Lightning Ridge Outback Opal Tour

What a cracker of a day we had visiting the Opal fields with Nat who is a 2nd generation Opal miner. We tried our luck at fossicking, stopped off at three of their very rustic “pubs” & met some very interesting characters. You may be thinking this trip sounds like one long pub crawl & you may be right! 🤣 To round off a good day, when we got back to Lightning Ridge we enjoyed a quick dip in the Artesian bore baths. A most memorable birthday for Greg. Tomorrow we hit the road again, heading to Brewarrina.

The Toyota jump for the unique Landcruiser.
The bra tree. No I did not make a donation!
The Post Office
The thong tree
One of the greens or browns as they call them.
The fairway.
Stanley the emu is 18m tall & is made from a VW beetle & satellite dishes.
Happy Birthday!
