We had a great overnight stay in the shearer’s quarters at Trilby on the Darling. Shearers must be quite fancy these days as the quarters are top notch.
There were sheep in the yards when we arrived yesterday & this morning they were loaded, bound for Griffith saleyards, just a short 9 hrs down the road.

Trilby has an idyllic billabong with hundreds of pelicans & other bird life. A stunning location! 😍

We would have loved to stay longer but we need to stay ahead of the rain as we still have a lot of unsealed roads to cover & it takes very minimal rain to get into trouble in this clay.

Hitting the road again, bound for Wilcannia, via Tilpa.

Met these two great fellas today in Tilpa pub. They have just completed a 375km fundraising row in kayaks from Bourke to Tilpa. They are raising funds for two noble causes, Defence Community dogs & Black Dog Institute.

Well done guys, what an awesome effort!

We were all feeling a bit shaken & stirred after the wild ride from Tilpa to Wilcannia. And we even took the western route which was the “better” road. 😯
