Cambridge

It’s time to get out of the city. We picked up our hire car in London this morning & hit the road for Cambridge. 5 minutes down the road we have missed a turn, Siri is sending us up dead end streets in the rougher end of town & we are getting beeped on a massive roundabout that has 8 roads leading into it. 😬 Thankfully things improved after that! Luckily I have a very calm pilot.

On the way to Cambridge we took a detour to visit the magnificent Audrey End house & gardens at Saffron Walden.

Our weekender! 😊
So many different varieties of tomatoes.
Stables in the background .
The stables 😯
The Lord of the Manor! 😂
Our very swanky hotel room in Cambridge.

Dinner at the historic Eagle pub.
British & American RAF pilot graffiti on the ceiling of the RAF bar.

  1. Loving the blog! I can’t reply to your message. Grandfather lived at Hook Bank Worcestershire. I have worked out the address if you’re wanting to head that way. Robyn

    • Hey Ando, this morning Greg had black pudding as part of his big breakfast but we both only had a small taste. Even though it tasted ok, the thought of pig’s blood is not appetising. 🥴 And fish & chips is on every menu but it’s all battered. I will take some photos. Freezing & rainy today. Has been clear weather until now so can’t complain. Hope you are both still enjoying your adventure xx
