Lincoln

Wow it’s 🥶 today with the whole raft of weather conditions changing every 10 mins – sunshine, cloud & showers. Every day has been cold but today it is exceptionally cold.

This doorman needs a top hat!
Now that’s a doorman.
The rabbit warren at The Duke William hotel. 😯
Lincoln Cathedral
Lincoln cathedral
Side view of the cathedral – this is only about 1/3 of it – absolutely massive!
This is only a very small portion of the interior.
Entry to the inner chamber.
The inner chamber looking east. We are at Evensong so have access to the inner chamber. Another beautiful service.
The inner chamber looking west.
The 3 towers of the cathedral.
Next to the cathedral are the ruins of the Bishop’s Palace.
One of the many little alleyways in Lincoln.
This street lives up to its name of “Steep Hill”.
Another interesting street name.
A fabulous little gallery of contemporary art.
A 4000 year old skull at the museum.
The contrast of shabby buildings & cathedral towers.
Entrance to Lincoln castle.
Inside the castle walls with cathedral towers behind. This is a garrison castle, not what we think of as a castle. So no Disney castle here.
The court house inside the castle walls, still in use today.
Back at the Duke William.
