Edinburg

Hello 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿! Have had a very energetic day climbing to the top of Arthur’s Seat overlooking Edinburgh & then wandering the streets.

On the way to Arthur’s seat. Ruins of St Anthony’s chapel in the background.
View from the chapel
Ruins of St Anthony’s chapel.
Onwards we go.
Halfway up.
Made it! We are holding onto the plinth on a narrow rock on the summit.
See how big the seagulls are compared to the pigeons. Whoppers!!
We earnt this! 😛
Which translates to “Oh yes, just cow”. The highland cattle are in all the gift shops. We are hoping to see some on our drive.
The Princess Diana memorial tartan available in blue & pink.
Couldn’t find a park so a quick lunch in the graveyard behind the church.
Oops! When we have tried to leave the church ground a wedding is coming in.
The gates of the Palace of Holyrood House. See the stag head in the top of the gate.
Loving the tartan. 😍
The Kings Gallery
The gallery doors.
Scottish Parliament building with odd shaped windows.
Note the safety sign below. ☺️ This street is called Cowsgate.
Read the plaque. Good on ya Tom! ❤️
The Gordons at Gordon’s.
This is a real owl. He was a beauty! This guy had two owls & an eagle.
Back of Edinburgh castle
Royal National Lifeboat Institution commemoration garden. This is a working clock & the birdhouse back left has a cuckoo that pops out every 15 mins. Very well done.
Can you hear the cuckoo?
Mortonhall baby ashes memorial. Can you see the guy playing the bongos to the left?
Edinburgh Castle in the background.
Great spot for a drink in the Pavilion beer garden.
