Edinburg to Inverness

Before leaving the city we picked up our hire car & were impressed to be given a free upgrade to a sports Mercedes. Not much luggage space but we’ll cope!!

The Royal Yacht Brittania. Cody assures me he is doing the V for Victory sign, not up yours! 😂
The Falkirk wheel. What an incredible piece of engineering. It is a fully rotating boat lift moving boats from the top & bottom canals simultaneously. It has replaced a staircase of 11 lochs that once stepped boats down from the Union Canal to the Forth & Clyde. Didn’t see one of these on the Murray. 😊
The Kelpies sculpture near the Falkirk Wheel. They represent the lineage of the heavy horse in Scottish industry pulling ploughs, wagons, coalships & barges.

A very picturesque drive to Inverness even if it is raining.
