Tongue to Ullapool

Today we had a very scenic, winding drive around the coast to Ullapool. Towering mountains, beautiful bays & blind corners on a very narrow road added to the excitement. No rain but we did have a gale force icy wind. ❄️

One of the many beautiful bays on today’s drive. Cute little farmhouse on the island in the background.
Lots of sheep grazing on the roadside today.
Smoo cave
Looking out from the cave.
Inside the cave.
This old winch was used to haul the boats out.
Was it for being the coldest & windiest beach?
Kylesku Bridge
Their favourite weed isn’t in flower yet.
We have no idea what all the Gaelic signs mean.
Finally one we understand!
Face to face around a blind corner & we have to back up. 🫣
Bambi in town.
The Highland cows are few & far between.
Ardvreck castle
A tricky entrance track.
Ullapool 😍
Cullen Skink at Ullapool pub tasted better than it sounds. 😋
