London

London has really turned on some glorious weather for our last couple of days. A great end to an epic holiday. I hope you have enjoyed our travels, thanks for following & we will see you back home. 👋

The Cutty Sark is a clipper & was built in 1869 to transport tea from Shanghai to London. In her heyday she was the fastest ship in the world. She is the only surviving tea clipper.
From 1883 when steamships dominated the tea trade, the Cutty Sark was sent to Australia to collect wool.

On our way to dinner- Trafalgar Square.

The highest mountain in Qld was named after this fellow – Bartle Frere
The iconic portrait of Captain Cook.
The Endeavour’s cannon that was thrown overboard when they ran aground on the Great Barrier Reef. Cook was surveying the east coast of Australia at the time. The ship was saved by throwing 6 of its guns & other heavy objects overboard.
Lord Nelson’s jacket showing where he was hit in the left shoulder with a musket ball in the battle of Trafalgar. It was a fatal shot.
The inscription reads “Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few – Winston Churchill”. Well said Winston!
